About Chocolate in the Oven

Chocolate in the Oven, established in 2010, is a small batch bakery located along the Delaware River,  in Milford, New Jersey. Cathy LaGuardia, owner, head baker and cake artist, is a Hunterdon County native, growing up in the neighboring town of Holland Township. After a  successful career in corporate finance and  business management, when she also dabbled in baking part time for friends and coworkers, she decided to follow a lifelong dream and opened the bakery in 2016.
Cathy is a self taught cake artist, growing up in an Italian family where baking and cooking were an important skill to learn from early on. Cathy credits her talent of baking to her mom, who still helps out at the bakery making many of the Italian specialty items at the holidays 
The talented team of bakers and decorators at the shop put their heart into producing the very best homemade confections each and every day.  Along with winning numerous awards for technical and advanced cake decorating, the shop has been named number one bakery in Hunterdon County for the past three years. 
Specializing in custom cakes, Italian pastry, cheesecakes, pies, small batch ice cream and confections,.   
At Chocolate in the Oven, you will also find unique items during the holidays and throughout the year that not many bakeries make anymore.... chocolate babka, challah, rugalach, Pittsburg pepperonrolls, Philadelphia butter cake, sfogatelle, struffoli and more.
